Benji Sawyer
Young Whippersnapper
Born and raised in Alabama, Benji cofounded Sawyer Solutions and is the company’s CEO. He created Sawyer Solutions in 2011 with his father, Ken, to develop a structural software package — but in 2013, the company began providing the reliable and state-of-the-art managed IT services that have turned Sawyer Solutions into one of the most successful and fastest-growing small businesses in Birmingham.
Benji has been programming since the late 1990s and worked at PiRod Inc. — now Valmont Industries — ServiceMaster Clean and Brother International in Memphis before moving back to Alabama to run Sawyer Solutions. Benji graduated from The Alabama School of Mathematics and Science and has a bachelor’s from the University of Alabama and a master’s in engineering technology from the University of Memphis.
When he’s not helping Sawyer Solutions’ clients grow their business, Benji volunteers in the youth program of the Alabaster Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoys skiing, jogging and gaming.
Benji’s greatest joy, however, is his family. He and his brilliant, loving and talented wife, Rebekah, are the proud parents of six children.

Ken Sawyer
Chief Elder
Ken’s entrepreneurial experience dates to when he and his wife, Liz, started the first of six businesses in 1973, and he has used that experience to help Sawyer Solutions thrive. Under Ken’s leadership, Sawyer Solutions was named Small Business of the Year by the Greater Shelby Chamber of Commerce in 2018 and 2021 and one of the 30-fastest growing companies in Birmingham in 2018.
Ken graduated from Samford University and constructed the first TV production facility at the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama, where he also received a Master’s in education. Ken also earned a Master’s in engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and several certifications including Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Away from the office, Ken is active in the Greater Shelby Chamber of Commerce and has served various leadership roles with the Boy Scouts of America. His service and dedication to the Boy Scouts earned him the organization’s Silver Beaver Award. Ken also sings in the choir at his church, where he serves on various committees, and loves spending time with his nine grandchildren and two Shetland sheepdogs.

Liz Sawyer
Bookkeeper
Helping run a family business is a way of life for Liz — her parents ran their own company out of the home where she was born and raised. Consequently, the mother to our CEO/Young Whippersnapper and wife to our Chief Elder enjoys keeping the books and making sure things run smooth for Sawyer Solutions.
Liz graduated from the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama with a bachelor’s and teaching certificate in physical education and a minor in biology before she decided to apply everything she learned to business.
When not at work, Liz is involved with her church, where she serves as the financial secretary, sings in the choir, and works with the safety and security and video production/broadcast teams. Liz is also the volunteer bookkeeper for the local American Legion and works with P.E.O Sisterhood, an international organization focused on providing educational opportunities for women.
Liz also gets much joy from playing and camping with her nine grandchildren and the Sawyer family dogs.

Tyler Carroll
Hamster Herder
A native of Maryland, Tyler hooked up with Sawyer Solutions when he moved to Locust Fork, Alabama, to be closer to family.
Prior to joining the Sawyer Solutions family, Tyler served as a systems analyst for the General Motors plant in Baltimore and worked in digital marketing for a dealership chain in Maryland and Pennsylvania.
Tyler is a graduate of Maryland’s Carroll County Career and Tech Center, where he studied computer networking and systems security, and has an associate degree in information systems security from ITT Technical Institute.

Johnny Carcioppolo
Chaos Conductor
A native of New Orleans, Johnny brings more than 30 years of leadership and experience in corporate training programs, banking, IT and software implementation to Sawyer Solutions. He has also owned his own business coaching and training company for five years.
When Johnny isn’t working, he enjoys participating in anything involving heights. That includes riding the tallest rollercoaster at an amusement park, skydiving or doing the 829-foot SkyJump off the STRAT Hotel in Las Vegas. He also enjoys traveling and taking cruises.
Johnny and his wife of 36 years, Debbie, are the proud parents of Ashley, 35, and Kristen, 32, and the proud grandparents of Joshua, 11. They also have a 2-year-old Shih-Tzu who runs the household.

Mark Bramer
Customer Happiness Wizard
Born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA Mark moved to Birmingham in 2018 for a job opportunity for his wife.
Before coming to Sawyer Solutions, Mark’s previous jobs included Asset Inspection Tech with Jefferson County, and HVAC installer.
When not at work Mark enjoys reading, gaming, spending time with his lovely wife Katy, and taking care of their two cats and dog.

Emily Standifer
Technical Answer Finder No.1
Emily joined us with a background in fine dining and office management. Her deep commitment to hospitality complements the team’s collective focus on creating great experiences.
Since joining the team over two years ago, she’s taken a deep dive into the world of IT and has grown her skills at lightning speed.
Off the clock, you’ll find her tending to her jungle of houseplants, listening to music, or photographing golden hour in national parks. She lives with her husband and is a proud human to two large mutts who believe they run the show (they’re not entirely wrong).”

Alex Hamm
Technical Answer Finder No.2
Alex is a proud Auburn University graduate with a degree in Information Systems Management and Cyber Security. These days, he’s putting that knowledge to good use as a technician helping with everyday tech issues like printers that won’t print, networks that won’t network, and Microsoft doing… whatever Microsoft feels like doing.
He’s detail-oriented, great at follow-through, and always willing to dig in and learn something new. Around here, he’s known for his calm approach and his famous line: “Hold on, I’m making a spreadsheet!”
When he’s not solving tech puzzles at work, he’s likely building custom PCs, working on a new LEGO set, or rewatching Star Wars for the hundredth time. Whether it’s a tech hiccup or a Death Star malfunction, he faces problems with patience, curiosity, and a steady hand.

Curtis Richey
Technical Answer Finder No.3
Curtis is one of the friendly voices you’ll hear when you call in needing help—and one of the sharp minds making sure your tech problems don’t stick around long. He joined the Sawyer Solutions team with a strong background in IT support and a drive to always figure things out, no matter how weird or messy the issue might be.
A graduate of Lawson State Community College, Curtis lives in Bessemer and is passionate about helping people feel less overwhelmed by their technology. He’s calm under pressure, a fast learner, and has a gift for explaining things in a way that actually makes sense—no techno-babble required.
When he’s not solving tech puzzles, Curtis enjoys spending time with his wife and staying connected to his local community. He’s a dependable, down-to-earth guy who genuinely cares about doing right by the people he supports—just the kind of person we love having on the team.
